New in UniLogic

AI has arrived in UniLogic.

The fastest way from machine requirements to PLC logic. Instead of writing IEC 61131-3 Structured Text line by line, you answer guided questions about your machine – application, control method and I/O – and the AI wizard creates a professional, UniLogic-aware prompt from your existing tags and your project context.

HOW IT WORKS

Four steps from machine requirements to finished code

01

Open AI Prompt Generator

Click AI in UniLogic’s toolbar and choose Prompt Generator. You don’t need to learn new tools or become an AI expert.

02

Describe your machine

Choose the industry and what the AI should do – the whole application, one function, a change or a review – and briefly describe the purpose.

03

Get the prompt files

The wizard compiles your answers into two Markdown files with UniLogic rules, platform constraints and project context.

04

Import the code

Upload the files to Claude, ChatGPT or another AI. It generates Structured Text that you import directly into UniLogic.

WHAT THE AI CAN DO

Seven tasks AI Prompt Generator is built for

Generate logic

From machine requirements to Structured Text – in minutes. The wizard uses your existing tags and your project context.

Code review

Let the AI review your logic and flag potential problems before they reach production.

Modify existing code

Update, extend or adapt logic already in the project, based on a precise description of the change.

Documentation

Auto-generate comments and documentation as you build, so the system is readable for those who come after you.

Code Porting

Reuse existing logic: the AI adapts third-party code – IEC or other logic – to UniLogic.

One function or the whole application

Choose whether the AI should create one ST function or a complete application with functions, tag lists, alarms and control sequences.

Image for HMI widget

New in UniLogic 1.43: widget type, visual description, style and canvas size are combined into a prompt that generates an SVG image.

KEEP IN MIND

The AI removes heavy lifting – not engineering judgement

  • The AI writes Structured Text – not Ladder directly. UniStream supports ST alongside Ladder, so you can use AI-generated functions in your Ladder system.
  • You still need to know your machine, define what the code should do and test the result. The AI removes heavy lifting, not engineering judgement.
  • UniLogic generates the prompt files. The code generation itself happens in the AI assistant you choose – it may have its own terms.
  • The software licence costs nothing – including AI Prompt Generator. There is no seat limit or subscription for UniLogic.
  • The figure ‘up to 80% less programming time’ is Unitronics’ own experience figure for the AI workflow – not a guarantee for your project.
